Brutalist Sculpture
Vic Experimented With Mould Making to Create a Modular Concrete Sculpture Inspired By Brutalist Architecture.
With time on her hands during lockdown 2020 Vic spent time creating her own moulds from materials lying around at home and in her workshop. Based on an 80x80mm module she cast five separate concrete elements that could be assembled in a variety of configurations. She played with the scale of the sculpture, using small scale figures to suggest that the piece was something much bigger - an ancient temple? An alien structure dropped onto earth? Something strange amongst the landscape? Vic took the sculpture into different natural environments to explore ideas further - woodland, meadows, the seaside, and her daughter helped record these trips, taking photos and video.
